Isabella Blow: the myth is celebrated by arts!

People follows fashion with a lot of passion surely has felt to speak about a great fashion icon as Isabella Blow, and who totally ignores who is this woman but wants to discover an exciting character from strong shades, solve the problem with the launch of some works dedicated to her. Assistant feared Anna Wintour, then editor-in-chief of Tatler and talent scout for passion (she found great personalities such as Alexander McQueen, Philip Treacy, Stella Tennant and others), Isabella Blow is surely one of the unforgettable characters who have made great fashion system. Three years after his suicide, literature and cinema pays tribute to her work and especially to her life that, without embellishments, seems to be the plot of a Victorian novel.

To tell this immortal myth is her husband Detmar Blow, with Tom Sykes, that retrace her life going up to the darker and more dramatic sides: tragic death of her younger brother, the glittering fashion world, until the depression that led suicide in may 2007. This sort of posthumous biography, published by HarperCollins and titled "Blow by Blow" (to quote the eponymous play of playwright Jean Bergantini Grillo), is available since last September 2nd, and precedes the release of two publications dedicated to her, a photographic book "Isabella Blow" by Martina Rink, and "Isabella Blow, a Life in Fashion" by Laura Goldstein Crowe (available from December). This charming english stylist, as well as having engaged on fashion magazines, has rendered a great service especially through her strong and unconventional image, so cinema is paying homage with a biopic of which unfortunately little is know.
The only certain news is about participation of John Galliano, as a producer and actor in the role of himself, and using some original clothing/accessories from the personal archives of Blow, recently purchased by the eccentric her friend Baroness Daphne Guinness.

Isabella has given so much to fashion and is right that we should never forget her!

Chi segue la moda con una certa passione avrà sicuramente già sentito parlare di una grande fashion icon come Isabella Blow, e chi invece ignora totalmente chi sia questa donna ma ha voglia di scoprire un personaggio entusiasmante dalle tinte forti, risolverà il problema grazie all'uscita di alcune opere a lei dedicate.
Assistente della temuta Anna Wintour, poi Editor-in-chief di Tatler e talent scout per passione (fu lei che scoprì grandi personalità come Alexander McQueen, Philip Treacy, Stella Tennant ed altri), Isabella Blow è sicuramente uno degli indimenticabili personaggi che hanno reso grande il fashion system.
A tre anni dal suo suicidio, sia la letteratura che il cinema rendono omaggio alla sua opera e soprattutto alla sua vita che, senza bisogno di infiocchettamenti, sembra essere la trama di un romanzo vittoriano.

Questa sorta di biografia postuma, edita da HarperCollins, dal titolo "Blow by Blow" (a citare l'omonima opera teatrale del commediografo Jean Bergantini Grillo) è disponibile dallo scorso due settembre, e precede l'uscita di altri due pubblicazioni a lei dedicate, il book fotografico "Isabella Blow" a cura di Martina Rink, e "Isabella Blow, a Life in Fashion" di Laura Goldstein Crowe, che sarà lanciato a dicembre.
Questa affascinante stylist inglese, oltre ad essersi dedicata alle riviste patinate, ha reso un grande servigio soprattutto attraverso la sua immagine forte e anticonvenzionale, così anche il cinema vuole renderle omaggio con un film biografico del quale però non si sa ancora molto. L'unica notizia certa è la partecipazione di John Galliano, come produttore e come attore nei panni di se stesso, e l'utilizzo di alcuni capi/accessori originali provenienti dall'archivio personale della Blow, acquistato recentemente dall'eccentrica Baronessa Daphne Guinness, sua amica.

Isabella ha dato veramente tanto alla moda ed è giusto che la moda non si dimentichi mai di lei!
