Vogue Suggestions october issue's editorial by Greg Lotus. Consideration about past and future!

Just today, while I was in the middle of my research about design's news from the world, I appeared under my eyes a Franca Sozzani's tweet, Editor-in-chief of italian Vogue, in which she emphasized the need of fashion look to the future more than to the past.

"I agree with the comments to my post today. In fashion, we all have to make the effort to look at the future and not at the past."

Certainly this is not a new, although thinking about it, I began to wonder: how can we take as a model the future, that we don't know and don't know what will be, when we've a lot of society's history, fashion, music and art, from which to get suggestions and materials for the next thousand years, continually re-inventing what has been? Well, I've not been able to give me an answer other than that, maybe so trivial, that's the solution of the enigma is the perfect balance of sides.
Past and future, together: we take the first one to metabolize and mix it in what little we've of the second to create the present, then that's what should interest us more.
About this thought, I find a better compromise the photographic reportage that a major of photography as Greg Lotus (often not appreciated as he should be) made to the Vogue IT's october issue supplement "Vogue Suggestions", in which a beautiful Georgina Stojiljkovic accompanied by Diego Miguel, is immortal in her too french-style nostalgic beauty, but with a great allure of modernity at the same time. Perhaps an iconographic image of a woman to the Café de Paris kidnapped and taken to an futuristic era, made up of clones and cybernian physicality.
I immediately loved this photoshooting, from choosing the subject to light, from the outfits to the shots.

"I agree with the comments to my post today. In fashion, we all have to make the effort to look at the future and not at the past."
