Amber Toms: photography's promising new talent!

Before my spiritual-creative retreat to London I want dedicated my last post of this month to an artist that I've just discovered (Thanks Castillo to make me know her) and know I'll follow her with more attention! Her name is Amber Toms, she's a young Australian photographer with a very good professional experience, in fact she has worked for two important designers such as Gail Sorronda and Gary Bigeni, and for some magazines such as Oyster magazine, Culture mag and Fallen magazine, even though she's not perfectly introduced in the turnover of great fashion photography, like the important slick magazines such as Vogue or Harper's Bazaar.
I think her work is so good because it's a focus on her vision with explicit influences to the great people of international photography that surely belong to her cultural background and gives her the possibility go by from a kind to another one with great stylistic versatility without losing her personal sign.
I like her way to develop an image-concept because it plays on the strenght of tradition and takes insipiration from geographical differences of her native country.
Her individual point of view is also liked to the Photo Imaging Education Association's jury that has named her winner of its international contest, in this way Amber Toms began her career and has worked in UK, Indonesia and Malesya.

Prima del mio ritiro spiritual-creativo a Londra voglio dedicare il mio ultimo post di agosto ad un artista che ho scoperto da poco (grazie Castillo per avermela fatta conoscere) e che credo seguirò con molta attenzione. Il suo nome è Amber Toms, è una giovane fotografa australiana con una buona esperienza professionale, ha infatti lavorato con i designers Gail Sorronda e Gary Bigeni e per alcune riviste di nicchia come Oyster magazine, Culture e Fallen magazine, anche se non è ancora perfettamente inserita nel circuito della grande fotografia di moda, quella delle importanti riviste patinate come Vogue o Harper's Bazaar.
Trovo il suo lavoro molto piacevole perché è un concentrato della sua personale visione con espliciti riferimenti ai grandi nomi della fotografia che sicuramente fanno parte del suo background culturale e che le danno la possibilità di passare da un genere ad un altro con grande versatilità stilistica senza perdere il suo segno.
Mi piace questo suo modo di sviluppare un concept immagine giocando sulla forza della tradizione e prendendo ispirazione dalle diversità geografiche del suo paese natale. Il suo individuale punto di vista e il suo lavoro devono essere piaciuti anche alla giuria della Photo Imaging Education Association che l'ha nominata vicitrice del suo concorso internazionale, dando il via alla sua carriera che l'ha portata a scattare nel Regno Unito, in Malesya e in Indonesia.
